I was just about to sit downa nd have my cup of tea and I realized that I had a page to write called time to relax. It seems that one thing or another seems to go hand in hand with the other. Relaxation and peace time come from work productivity which is what and why and how we work for this quality time. Realxation is not just as simple as all that, sitting down with your cup of tea and physically relaxing, these days it is even a work effort to make your cup of tea for those who live by themself and don't have someone else to get it for them. Call it laziness, being lathargic, stressed and overworked or just some other God given reason that we use to do nothing, waste time and just physically rest. However how you see relaxation, it is still important to take some time out for yourself and just relax. If I just decided to sit down and do nothing then this page would never get written and even writing this page is a form and type of relaxation for me. Work, the dreaded four letter word that seems to plague and haunt us most of the time into fits of stress and anxiety is also a good reason to sit down and relax and say to yourself I have deserved this time out to myself. When we go to bed at night and drift off into peaceful sleep and experience imaginative dreams of wonder and magnifigance, we sometimes forget that our afternoon nap some time before hand has caused us to wake up at 3-4 am in the morning feeling wide awake and sleepless in our excessive hours of sleep. How can we justify an afternoon nap unless we have worked half the night on a shiftwork schedule just to get our quota of work up to date and keep the boss happy. Theoretically the harder you work the better you should sleep or at least that is the theory. I get my eight hours at least or ten if I am lucky to get up and use my time through the day as wisely as I can and return the same place again for each night. Just as when the weekend comes around and you have put in your 40 hours of work or whatever crazy hours you do and it is time to sit down on a comfortable chair and relax in front of the TV. The kids yelling and screaming and the wife wants you to mow the lawn and what happends to your relaxation time, it seems to fly out the window in home maintainence time and effort. So how and when do you use, find and come across this time to relax in your working week. Church on Sundays, welll that may be relaxing to some, but for most of us it is a little welcome reminder of the hard facts of life that we all far too often seem to forget and drift away from. Therefore it pays to pay attention and listen to the minister who is up there preaching and doing all the hard work for you, especially if you want value for money for your tithe. So when and how do we relax, should we set aside an hour or two of the day just to unwind and relax. God said that in the beginning, He created heaven and earth and on the seventh day after God had finished making everything he rested. A sabbatical to do nothing but praise and worship God is how we should view it now, as if it was good enough for God to rest, then we all should take a leaf out of his book and do the same. Relaxation or resting gives us a renewed vitality, it gives the brain time to recover from the strenuous work and effort in thinking, it gives us time to rest our weary bones from manual labour. And it gives us the peace of mind that we need to think clearly and concisely to make right decisions because we are welll rested. I like to just lie down on the bed sometimes when I have not got a clue or better idea and just listen to some music, the calm peaceful therapeudic music that soothes the soul and gives peace and contentment to the mind in the reassurance that you are going to heaven to rest your mind and soul forever. Or at least for that hour or two if you are lucky. God bless us all and give us that necessary resting time to relax and rejuvinate our minds and souls. Teach us all how to rest and relax, in order to perform our normal functions correctly. Take time and find time to rest, relax and recover from all your hard work and labour.
