Management Meant Promotions

As a part of any career or hierarchical path management means promotions. In the day to day struggle to climb the corporate ladder we cross many paths and have many opinions in directions that we can choose to make a better life for ourselves by obtaining a higher position in the company. Promotions are assessed by how well we perform by managers in higher positions than ourselves.

Promotions are judged on ability and the capacity for the person for their ability to create revenue and profit for the company. Promotions can also be awarded b how the manager promoted the company through catchy sales campaigns, clever advertising and marketing that outperforms and places the company in a leading position in their endeavor to obtain market control. Promotions by their very nature are a desirable thing, the fascination and wonder that fills the head of a suspecting performer of the new challenges that are awaiting and are being considered in the thought of upward moves. Promotions or should I say status risers are created through termination of superiors or by vacancies created by superiors leaving. Of course it is not backward to take a sideways step in order to eventually make a forward move.

But it is considered derogatory to slip down the rings whether it is due to poor performance or incompatibility with superiors. Promotions are good news and we seek them and ask for the continually. Though it is important that we are ready for them when we get them to not have to suffer the humiliation of not coping with the more responsibility. Qualifications and experience enable us to apply, though not promotion is more desire than the one that is awarded simply out of merit when enough effort has been applied. The prize being higher salary.
